Sunny
Today was a fantastic day! The winter sun shone brightly in the sky, and I felt the warmth on my face as I walked outside. It’s already the third week of my winter holiday, and I’ve been trying to make the most of it.
In the morning, I helped my mom bake cookies. We used a recipe from an old cookbook she found in the attic. Mixing ingredients like sugar, butter, and flour was fun, but rolling out the dough was a bit tricky. However, when we put them in the oven, the smell filled the house with a cozy aroma. By lunchtime, we had delicious chocolate chip cookies ready to eat. They were so yummy that even my dad asked for seconds!
After lunch, I decided to practice my English writing skills. I opened my notebook and wrote about today’s activities. Writing in English helps me improve my grammar and vocabulary, and it’s also a great way to express myself. I hope to keep this habit going throughout the year.
Later in the afternoon, I called my cousin, who lives in another city. We talked about our plans for the future and shared stories about what we’ve been doing during the break. It’s always nice to catch up with family members, especially when they live far away.
Before dinner, I went for a walk with my dog, Max. The snow-covered streets looked magical under the sunlight, and Max seemed to enjoy running around and playing in the fresh air. It was a peaceful time to think and relax.
Dinner tonight was simple but tasty—a bowl of vegetable soup and some bread. Afterward, I watched a short documentary about animals in the wild. Learning new things is one of my favorite ways to spend free time.
As I sit here writing this diary entry, I feel grateful for such a wonderful day. Tomorrow, I plan to read a few chapters from my favorite book and maybe try out another recipe. Life during the holidays feels slower and more relaxed, but there’s still plenty to do and learn.
Goodnight! I hope tomorrow brings more joy and discovery.
— Yours truly,
Alex
